Definition

In D., DL.; any tetraxial, tetractinal megasclere with one, unequal, usually longer ray (called rhabd) and other three rays termed clads (e.g., genera Acanthotetilla, Stelletta) together forming the cladome; there are different kinds of triaenes, for example, acantho-, ana‐, dicho‐, meso‐, ortho-, phyllo‐, protriaene.
