Definition
In D., H.; in some H. (all Amphidiscophora and some Hexasterophora) spicule characterized by a shaft (may be spinose) with discoidal or anchorate ends (e.g., Monorhaphis chuni); compare with birotule; types of a. include, e.g., hemidisc, macramphidisc, paradisc, tylodisc; see also umbel.
