In D.; an oval, ring‐shaped microsclere with small indents at the inner side of the ring (e.g., genus Merlia); not circular but rather droplet‐shape in any orthogonal section (excluding the idents); c. are fused C‐formed spicules (e.g., diancistras); compare with cercichela.
