Definition

In H.; an oxyoidal hexaster with sigmoidal secondary rays situated on the edge of the discoidal outer end of the primary ray (e.g., Chaunangium crater); p. with snake‐like secondary rays emanating from the edge of a shield‐like disc in a single whorl of primary rays is called aspidoplumicome (e.g., Saccocalyx careyi); see strobiloplumicome.
